Travel Assistance

Support for Travel Expenses

  • NCHE knows that classroom teachers (grades K-12) are often the least able to obtain travel time and money from their school districts to attend an NCHE conference. NCHE has arranged a limited fund to help K-12 teachers defray travel expenses to the 2011 National Conference.

  • To request a travel scholarship, write a letter on school/district letterhead to the NCHE Office and submit via ground mail (7100 Baltimore Ave., Suite 510, College Park, MD 20740) or fax (240-770-3964). No emails will be accepted. Letters should identify your teaching situation and explain how you expect to benefit from attending the conference.

Important Notes

  • Awards will only be made to K-12 classroom teachers

  • Letters must include all contact information (name, institution, address, phone number, email address)

  • Awards are presented at the conference and will not be mailed ahead of time

  • Travel award is contingent upon pre-registration for the 2011 NCHE National Conference

Application Deadline: December 20, 2010

All grantees will be notified by email by January 17, 2011
