In July 2005, the Florida State Social Studies Specialist asked for comments on the existing "Sunshine State Standards" as Florida begins a periodic review of its standards. The NCHE National Office along with Florida State Coordinator, Sarah Drake Brown of Florida State University, commissioned Dr. John Pyne to write a review of those standards so that NCHE will have some input into the upcoming review.
