California Historical Society

The California Historical Society inspires and empowers Californians to make the past a meaningful part of their contemporary lives.  CHS's collection of historical materials, maintained to share with the public, includes some of the most cherished and valuable documents, images, and artworks from California's past.

CHS is pleased to present Think California, an exhibition highlighting the colorful history of California through the institution's remarkable collection of artwork, artifacts, and ephemera.  This ambitious exhibition asks the question "What do you think about when you think of California?"  Here you see both common and little known facts of the Golden State's fascinating history, as well as the myths and realities that are the lore of California.

The exhibition gallery is open Wednesday - Saturday, noon-4:30 pm.

NCHE members are offered free admission with their membership card.
